Everyone is allowed to have their opinion. That said, I would like to offer my ideas on what this person is saying. I think that this person is partially right, Tiana did have a big hurdle to cross when it came to buying the restaurant. The larger offer seems to re-enforce the fact that life is not fair, and we cannot expect it to be; but, we can work to try to get past the unfairness of life with hard work. Throughout the whole movie, her mother and father both stressed that life is not complete without love. Whether or not that is a significant other, or just a love of life. Her father said that great gumbo needs to be shared and was obviously a well loved man in the neighborhood. Her friends state that she never goes out and they should never bother since she will never pay attention to them. And her mother wants her to find love in her life. So, I believe that Mama Odie was not saying Tiana needs a man in her life, but she needs to temper her hard work with love. After all, this was something the entire movie has tried to focus on. Plus, following your heart is basically Disney’s motto.
