waltdisneyconfessions:

“ Tiana had every reason to not spare a moment to relax and have fun. She had a time limit to conform to. As seen in the movie, anyone could come along and offer a bigger amount of money than her for the restaurant. I think it was totally right of her to work as much as she could, and then relax afterwards. That’s one of my main problems with the film, and the fact they made it seem like her dream couldn’t be complete without a man.”

I’m not going to say that this confession is wrong or anything. Everyone is allowed to have their opinion. That said, I would like to offer my ideas on what this person is saying.

I think that this person is partially right, Tiana did have a big hurdle to cross when it came to buying the restaurant. The larger offer seems to re-enforce the fact that life is not fair, and we cannot expect it to be; but, we can work to try to get past the unfairness of life with hard work.

Throughout the whole movie, her mother and father both stressed that life is not complete without love. Whether or not that is a significant other, or just a love of life. Her father said that great gumbo needs to be shared and was obviously a well loved man in the neighborhood. Her friends state that she never goes out and they should never bother since she will never pay attention to them. And her mother wants her to find love in her life.

So, I believe that Mama Odie was not saying Tiana needs a man in her life, but she needs to temper her hard work with love. After all, this was something the entire movie has tried to focus on. Plus, following your heart is basically Disney’s motto.

Super Sailor Moon and baby Hotaru. Original.

This picture has had the biggest impact on me from the entire series. That Sailor Moon would be willing to risk everything, even her life, to give another person that second chance, makes me love her all the more. This picture is just so hauntingly beautiful that over 10 years, I still love this image.
